I was lucky enough to be part of a select few that attended an exclusive event organised by Adidas UK and JD Official, hosting the Stormzy #EQT launch – the closing event of the day included tunes from a 1xtra dj, a secret performance from Stormzy, a guest performance from Chip, free photo booth and complimentary drinks & pizza.
We were sent an email with the secret location 1 hour before the event, my friend and I made our way there and joined the queue. Within 10 minutes we were given our wrist bands and entry into the venue with multiple drinks tokens (choice of beer and soft drinks).
From 6.30-8pm a 1xtra Dj played tunes and got everyone pumped ready for Stormzy’s arrival. As promised Stormzy arrived at 8pm and brought some serious energy! (Considering he had been driving round London all day on the EQT launch tour bus) everyone went mad as he kicked off with a guest appearance from Chip. What made this gig so special was its intimacy; only 240 people in attendance meant that everyone had a great view.
Once he had finished his set which included performances of his songs ‘Cold’, ‘Big For Your Boots’ and ‘Shut Up’ as well as Chip’s ‘I’m Fine’ featuring Stormzy, we were given TONNES of pizza and Big Mike/Stormzy himself came into the crowd, taking time to take pictures with as many people as he could (GREAT BLOKE!)
I think its safe to say that this beat every time I’d watched him at multiple festivals this year (Parklife, Glastonbury & V Festival) simply because it was such a small venue and it felt so personal!
Thank you so much to JD & ADIDAS for putting on such an amazing event and making so many Stormzy fans HAPPY AF! What an epic evening <3
